Setting Up A Message Destination In VisNetic MailFlow
This article explains the necessary steps to configure VisNetic MailFlow to
deliver outbound messages to an SMTP server. To complete the following steps,
VisNetic MailFlow needs to have access to an SMTP server, either local or
remote.
From the VisNetic MailFlow Interface:
- Click the Administration link
- Click the Message Destinations link under the Message Handling
section
- Click the New button on the Message Destinations toolbar
- Check the Enabled option box
- Enter the IP address or DNS name of the SMTP Address field
- If the SMTP server requires authentication check the Use SMTP Auth
box and enter the appropriate User Name and Password.
- Default Delivery Interval is 5 minutes. This is the interval VisNetic
MailFlow will process outbound messages.
- Connection Timeout is the specified period of time VisNetic MailFlow will
wait to the SMTP server to respond before closing the session.
- Max Message Size default is 5000 kb. This setting is for the maximum per
message size allowed for delivery.
- Retry Send is the duration VisNetic MailServer will attempt to deliver a
message if it fails delivery when the outbound messages are processed.
- Click the Test Login button the New Message Destinations toolbar.
If the login is successful a Test successful message will be prompted.
- Click the Save button on the New Message Destinations toolbar
