Creating Routing Rules In VisNetic MailFlow

This article explains the necessary steps to route inbound messages based upon certain criteria, such as email addresses or content.

From the VisNetic MailFlow Interface:

  1. Click the Administration link
  2. Click the Routing Rules link under the Message Handling section
  3. Click the New button on the Routing Rules toolbar
  4. Enter a descriptive name for the rule in the Desctiption field under the Rule information section
  5. Click the Yes radio button for the Enabled option
  6. Use the drop-down arrow to select from which message source to apply the rule to. Select Any if you want the rule applied to all message sources.
  7. If you want the rule based upon the To: or From: email address enter the email address to match in the corresponding field
  8. Click Add
  9. If you want the rule to be based upon message text rather than email addressses click the New button next to the Match Text
  10. Use the drop-down arrow to select where to match the text from
  11. Enter the corresponding text into the provided field under the Match text section
  12. Use the drop-down arrow to select the ticketbox to route the message to under the Destination section. Or, if the message is to be routed to a particular agent or deleted, enable the appropriate option and use the drop-down arrow to select the agent to trash.
  13. Click the Save button on the New Routing Rule toolbar
