Solution VisNetic MailServer

Configuring the Retry queue for sending mail from VisNetic MailServer is controlled by the interval.dat file.

Default location: c:\Program Files\Deerfield.com\VisNetic MailServer\Config\interval.dat

The parameters for Undeliverable Warning messages after X hours is hidden by default, the programmed retry values are:

try # 1 - is always just after coming to the server queue
try # 2 - after 2 minutes
try # 3 - next 10 minutes after try # 2
try # 4 - next 38 minutes after try # 3
try # 5 - next 70 minutes after try # 4
try # 6 - next 120 minutes after try # 5
try # 7 - next 120 minutes after try # 6
try # 8 - next 120 minutes after try # 7
try # 9 - next 120 minutes after try # 8

Default total try duration: 600 min (10 hours), Default Undeliverable Warning after: 8 hours.

Warning: Total try duration has to be bigger than Undeliverable Warning.

If you want to change this retry timing, which is not recommended, you have to create a file called interval.dat and place it in the folder \Program Files\Deerfield.com\VisNetic MailServer\Config\.

The format of the file is as follows:

2
10
38
70
120
120
120
120
