The email clients behind WinRoute Firewall will be configured per your ISP's instructions when connecting to mail servers outside your network. If you have your own mail server and that mail server is on your private network you would configure your email clients to connect to the internal IP of your mail server.
WinRoute Firewall has traffic policies that control what services are allowed by the clients, the clients will need to use the NAT traffic policy to use email outside your private network. Open the WinRoute Firewall Admin, select Traffic Policy under configuration and verify that you have SMTP, POP3 and DNS in the services column for the NAT rule.
The client computers TCP/IP settings will need to be configured to allow them to use NAT in WinRoute Firewall. Please review the following article to ensure that your clients TCP/IP is setup correct.
