Does the DNS2GO Email Routing Service have spam filters?
Does the DNS2GO Email Routing Service have spam filters?
Solution
Q
: Does the DNS2GO Email Routing Service have spam filters? I am using the service as an email hosting service, not using my own server.
A
: The DNS2Go Email Routing service adds X-Spam headers to all inbound messages.
It is up to you what you do with the messages. You can filter them at that DNS2Go mail server by creating a domain level Black & White list filter or you can filter them with your email client when you collect them.
Here are samples of the headers added:
A Spam Message:
X-Spam-Flag: YES
X-Spam-Status: Yes, hits=9.13 required=5.00 tests=SUBJ_VIAGRA,VIAGRA,BAYES_01,MR_NOT_ATTRIBUTED_IP,_VIAGRA
version=3.0
X-Spam-Level: *********
X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0 (1.3) on mx20.dns2go.com
A Non Spam Message:
X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.82 required=5.00 tests=HTML_MESSAGE,OFFER,BAYES_01,SPECIAL_OFFER version=3.0
X-Spam-Level:
X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0 (1.3) on mx20.dns2go.com
The simplest filter to create would be as follows:
Log into the DNS2Go MailManager with your domain admin login details.
https://mail.dns2go.com
1. Select "Domain Settings" from the first menu.
2. Select the "B&W" tab.
3. Select the "B&W Filter" button.
4. Select "Item: Email is spam".
5. Select "Action: Reject"
6. Select the "Add" button.
7. Test the filter by sending a spam message to an account at your domain.
