Transferring Domain from one server to another - VisNetic or IceWarp
Solution This article applies to VisNetic MailServer v7 - 9 and IceWarp 9

Version 7 - 7.6.1

On the Source Server:

1. From a command window navigate to the following location (default):

C:\Program Files\Deerfield.com\VisNetic MailServer\

Type the following:

domains.exe -e, [domain] >> domains.csv

2. From the same location in the command window type the following:

users.exe -e, -u*@[domain] >> users.csv

Where -u*@[domain] determines which accounts will be exported, *@* would export all users, mike@* would export all accounts with an alias of mike@[domain], etc.

Important Note: After creating the export files, open them with notepad and remove the lines at the top of the file, leaving the first domain/user as the first line.

Important Note 2: Passwords for Administrators and Domain Administrators are not exported. They will need to be entered manually on the destination server.

On the Destination Server:

1. From a command window navigate to the following location (default):

C:\Program Files\Deerfield.com\VisNetic MailServer\

Type the following:

domains.exe -g, domains.csv

Where domains.csv is the full path to the import file, unless it resided in the VisNetic root folder.

2. From the same location in the command window type the following:

users.exe -g, users.csv

Where users.csv is the full path to the import file, unless it resided in the VisNetic root folder.

Version 8-9

On the Source Server:

From a command window navigate to the following location (default):

C:\Program Files\Deerfield.com\VisNetic MailServer\

Type the following:

tool export domain * d_description d_type >> domainexport.csv

or

tool export account *@* u_alias u_password >> accountexport.csv

When you use the domain or account command you need to specify which domain(s) or account(s) to output... use the wildcard conventions like above to output all accounts or domains or any combination, for example:

*@virt*
bill*@domain.com
bill@*

You can output just about anything... check the apiconst.pas file for all of the options.

On the Destination Server:

To import from file use the tool command:

tool import account c:\accountexport.csv U_Name U_Password

All versions of VisNetic MailServer and IceWarp - the mail path for the domain can optionally be copied to the destination server. The mail path is located under the domains name in the source mail path. The mail path is located in the Storage settings of the admin console.

Example location:

C:\Program Files\Deerfield.com\VisNetic MailServer\mail\domain.com\

Copy this path to the destination server mail path.
