Creating User Account Aliases In VisNetic MailServer
Solution VisNetic MailServer

This article explains how to setup aliases for accounts that have already been created.

Aliased accounts will allow you to accept mail for different email addresses and place each aliased account in one account. This may be helpful if you use first name, last name abbreviations to create your email addresses.

For example, you may want to accept mail for first.lastname@your_domain.com and first.lastinitial@your_domain.com

john.d@your_domain.com

From the VisNetic MailServer configuration console:
  1. Click the Accounts button
  2. Expand the domain in the left-hand window
  3. Expand the Users in the left-hand window
  4. Select the user account the alias will be for
  5. Enter the account alias in the Alias field on the right-hand window.
Multiple aliases can be used by separating them with a semi-colon. (e.g.; Support;help;info)
  6. Click Save
If using the Web Admin, from the VisNetic MailServer Web Admin:
  1. Select the Accounts link
  2. Click the domain the account is associated with
  3. Click the user account under the Users section
  4. Enter the account alias in the Alias field
Multiple aliases can be used by separating them with a semi-colon. (e.g.; Support;help;info)
  5. Click Save User
